This month we will take our first dive into the concert music for the coming year. We will play through several of the more difficult tunes, including Matty’s Appeal, Myra’s Jig, and Good for the Tongue. Then we’ll try out arrangements for the following sets: Eagle’s Whistle, Highland Cathedral, The Bonnie Lass of Headlake, Drunk at Night: Dry in the Morning, the Karen Steven set, and the Finale set.
Please come prepared with a copy of the concert tunes, printed single-sided. If you have the opportunity, take some time to play through the music before September 8. In selecting the concert tunes, your music committee listened to your ideas from the June gathering. This gathering is your chance to let us know if we got it right and to offer suggestions for how to put together some fun arrangements.
The concert sets can be found here, or go directly to the Music tab.
Everyone please arrive in time for a prompt 1 p.m. start.
If you are coming for the first time, note that the rear parking lot off of Fayette St. provides the easiest access. We always try to have extra copies of the music for newcomers, however ear-players are welcome as well.
