November Tunes

Molly Reay’s Dream – was composed by Karen in early 2023, in memory of the great-granddaughter of one of Karen’s neighbours from the village Karen grew up in.  Molly Reay endured a number of health issues from soon after she was born and received treatment and care at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow before sadly passing away.  It is hoped that a recording of the tune can be made as a fundraiser for GCHC Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity which provides support to families of children undergoing treatment and care in the Royal Hospital for Children, previously known as Yorkhill Hospital. Sandy & Ethel MacDonald’s Golden Wedding March was composed by Alastair on the occasion of his parent’s 50th wedding anniversary in 2011.

The tunes were chosen as a set for the New Hampshire Scottish Fiddle Club because they are contrasting in tempo and also provide a change of key.  Ornamentations and bowings are provided for the slow air.
