New Member Profile: Annelise
I am a long-time musician, starting out classical and beginning to branch into different styles of music around high school. Although my main instrument –and the subject of my primary undergraduate degree—is piano (having been taught at Concord Community Music School by Kathryn Southworth for well over 10 years), I also have played fiddle (under Liz Faiella’s instruction) and I dabble in accordion and harmonium. I am stylistically omnivorous, but have some strong French-Canadian leanings, as well as being inspired by Romantic and post-Romantic classical composers (especially Albeniz and Bartok!!). I am also intrigued by ethnomusicology of all types.
Other than music, I love art, folklore, anthropology, gastronomy, and more. I would be more than happy to chat on any of these subjects (and so many others!) with anyone, or show people my ultra-zen pen-doodling techniques (which I use on just about any paper that I find in front of me).
At the time of writing, I live in Bow, NH with my parents and dogs, having just graduated from UNH Law and looking forward to what life will bring next for me. I hope to eventually split my time evenly between professional musical endeavors and aiding artists and musicians in areas of contract and intellectual property law. Nonetheless, I hope to remain in the Concord area for the foreseeable future and playing with the NHSMC as long as I can!
