The New Hampshire Scottish Music Club scholarship program is designed to assist qualified applicants attend programs that create learning experiences about Scottish music. These activities may include:
Attendance at Scottish music schools, workshops, or camps
Sponsorship of a workshop
Expenses to study or research traditional music, including music lessons
Attendance at Scottish dance classes
Who May Apply:
Members of NHSMC and their minor children are eligible for scholarships.
No members of the Board of Directors or the Scholarship Committee of NHSMC, or their families, may apply.
An applicant must be at least ten years of age and have studied for two years.
Applicants having received grants two years in a row will not be eligible to receive another consecutive grant.
Areas Not Eligible for Funding
NHSMC will not provide scholarships for any of the following activities:
Admission to concerts or Highland Games
Purchase of musical instruments
Production of a recording for commercial use
Application Deadline
Don’t delay! For our current fiscal year the application deadline is May 15, 2024.
The Scholarship Committee will direct the SRSNH Treasurer to issue a check in the amount of the grant upon approval. All grants awarded must be used by the end date of the event for which they were granted. If the activity funded by the grant is not held, or not completed because of accident or health problems, the total amount of the grant must be returned to NHSMC, less any applicable deductible. All grant money must be used for the purpose stated on the application form
The New Hampshire Scottish Music Club
is presently accepting scholarship applications for the study of Scottish music.
Within four weeks of the completion of the activity, scholarship recipients are asked to submit a one-page report to the scholarship committee, which will be published on our website.
