Every other year in March we celebrate Member Tune Month and this is that year! For our gathering we’ll play a tune submitted by Deb DellOrfano, then we’ll play a tune that last month’s surprise guest, Karen Steven, wrote for us after her visit. We’ll also take time to review the strathspey and reel that Karen taught us by ear.

After playing our member tunes and a tea and coffee break, we’ll reconvene to continue rehearsing for our spring concerts. If you’re not playing in the concerts or are new to SMC, please stay anyway and enjoy playing these many fun tunes. We’ll have extra copies of the concert tunes available.

For the rehearsal, we'll start by going through the tunes that we didn't get to this month.

Then we’ll drill down into some of the ones we did this month, looking at the rehearsal notes that I provided.  Bring your concert music and a copy of the rehearsal notes from February.

Please arrive on time for a prompt 1 p.m. start. (Daylight Savings Time begins at midnight, so don’t forget to spring ahead!)

If you are coming for the first time, note that the rear parking lot off of Fayette St. provides the easiest access.
