We are soliciting your input on the quality of the workshops that we have had in the last year. We’ve put together a simple survey where you can give a numerical rating for each workshop, but we also hope you will use the comments field to add something. For example, you might feel that the teaching was good but it didn’t pertain to your particular instrument / interests.
Before taking the survey you may want to refresh your memory by reading the workshop summaries which we have published here.
Workshop highlights with photos and video.
The workshop with the Thomsons was entertaining and instructive.
Karen Steven and Alastair McDonald delivered a delightful, engaging workshop, teaching us two original tunes.
Playing his fiddle this time, Neil presented a three part Cape Breton reel John Morris Rankin, in D major, composed by fiddler Dougie MacDonald for his friend and fellow musician John Morris Rankin.
Following a brief annual meeting, Ed Pearlman taught us three new tunes while demonstrating more advanced playing techniques.
While we have been encouraging our players to smile, particularly in performance, it’s worth noting that smiles were abundant during this workshop. This observer thinks this was a combination of people being delighted at all the little details Pam was teaching, and her easy going and entertaining delivery.
Randy Miller led our January workshop with a full house attending.
